Week 5 of the Virginia Youth Trapshooting League (VYTL) ended on 4/26/15 with 31 youth trap shooters competing at Winchester Gun Club, IWLA – Arlington Fairfax, and IWLA – Lynchburg. The race for high gun honors is going to be close as we complete the final two weeks of the league. At the end of Week 5, Sub Junior Camden Newlin (Frederick County 4-H) is leading with a 92.80 average, followed by Juniors Christopher Hise (IWLA-Flight Control) 92.00 and Robert Judy (Frederick County 4-H) 90.80.

**In order to qualify for end of year awards, shooters must complete 6 out of 7 shoots and only their best 6 shoots will count. These averages include all scores shot to this point – the “dropped” week has not been excluded.**

About the Virginia Youth Trapshooting League:

The VYTL is a 7 week competition with each shooter’s best 6 scores counting towards end of season awards and bragging rights.  Shooting will continue through May 10th with the season culminating on May 16th at the Virginia AIM Trap Shooting Championships in Lynchburg, VA.

A newly formed high school trap shooting league for any shooters up to 22 years of age, shooters from throughout Virginia were able to compete at their local clubs and have their scores compiled with their peers from other parts of the state.  This new format is very exciting and gives each participant a way to test their skills against a larger than normal pool of competitors each week.
