2016 VYTL Results – Week Two

The second week of the 2016 Virginia Youth Trapshooting League is complete, with 50 youth participating throughout the state.  The Northern Virginia Gun Club team did not report scores this week and Stafford experienced some power outages, so they’ll be making up their scores on Thursday of this week.

Overall High Guns were Camden Newline 50, and Mason Angel 47*.

The Week 2 High Guns in each category are as follows:

Junior Gold: Steven Keating 47 (Frederick County 4-H) and Trevor Goin 41 (Appomattox).

Junior: Robert Judy 47 (Frederick County 4-H), Eric Swahn 45 (IWLA Arlington-Fairfax), Dominic Cox 44 (Frederick County 4-H).

Sub-Junior: Camden Newlin 50 (Independent), Mason Angel 47 (Stonewall), and Hunter Shoemaker 45 (Frederick County 4-H).

Pre-Sub Junior:  Ashton Petcock 42 (Frederick County 4-H), Ryan Marsh 34 (Flight Control), and Connor Morris 30 (Flight Control).

*To settle the ties, we had to use the reverse scores, utilizing the Week 1 Total Scores.

About the Virginia Youth Trapshooting League:

The VYTL is an 8 week high school trap shooting competition for Virginia youth up to 22 years of age.  Our unique format provides shooters throughout Virginia with the opportunity to compete at their local clubs and have their scores compared with peers from throughout the state.

New clubs/teams this year include Alexandria IWLA (Stafford Clay Shooters), Northern Virginia Gun Club,  Arrowhead, Blue Angels Shooting Team and Stonewall.  Returning from 2015 are Appomattox, IWLA Arlington-Fairfax, IWLA- Lynchburg (Flight Control), and Winchester Gun Club (Frederick County 4-H).
