The second week of the 2017 Virginia Youth Trapshooting League is complete, with 59 youth participating throughout the state.
This year’s clubs/teams include Alexandria IWLA (Stafford Clay Shooters), Blue Eagles, IWLA Arlington-Fairfax, IWLA- Lynchburg (Flight Control), Northern Virginia Gun Club, Stonewall, and Winchester Gun Club (Frederick County 4-H and Clarke County 4-H).
Overall High Gun was Hunter Shoemaker (Frederick County 4-H) with a 48 and runner up was Jacob Griffin (Frederick County 4-H) with a 47. The runner up carryover from Week 1 was settled, with Hunter winning that recognition.
The Week 2 High Guns in each category are as follows:
Junior Gold: Robert Judy (Frederick County 4-H) 46.
Junior: Reilly Cuccinelli and Nick Sarmanian from IWLA Arlington-Fairfax, 47s. This will be carried over until Week 3 as their Week 1 scores were identical.
Sub-Junior: Gage Kesner (Frederick County 4-H) was high gun with a 46 as a result of a tie-breaker with Gabriel Cook from Stafford Claybusters. The Week 1 scores were used to settle this tie (43 to 0).
Pre-Sub Junior: Andrew Marsh 40 (IWLA Lynchburg).
